My name is Andy Wood. I have a PhD in Marketing and I am the Department Head of Marketing at James Madison University. While I am from Florida originally, I am the grandson of a sharecropper in North Carolina. My life changed when I earned my B.S. in Statistics from the University of Florida I spent 17 years in a variety of positions from purchasing agent, to sales representative, to sales manager to president in the Building Industry. I was director of sales and marketing for CSR Building Material as well as Business Unit Manager for the Southeast Region.
In 2000, I went back to school to earn my PhD in Marketing from Georgia State University. I then spent 10 years at West Virginia University teaching a variety of sales and international courses as well as founding the Professional Sales Institute. My research is in Professional Sales (emphasis the neurological foundation of nonverbal cues on trust & trustworthiness). I also publish in the area of international market entry.
The picture below is me in front of the Bridge in Enniscorthy, site of the first Battle of Enniscorthy in the Irish Rebellion of 1798. That is part of my metamorphic journey that developed out of my college education. I will tell you more about that through my blog.
