My name is Andy Wood. I have a Ph.D. in Marketing, and I am a Professor of Marketing at James Madison University. While I am from Florida originally, I am the grandson of a sharecropper in North Carolina. My life changed when I earned my B.S. in Statistics from the University of Florida. I spent 17 years in various positions from purchasing agent to sales representative, to sales manager to president in the Building Materials Industry. I was director of sales and marketing for CSR Building Material and Business Unit Manager for the Southeast Region.
In 2000, I went back to school to earn my Ph.D. in Marketing from Georgia State University. I spent 10 years at West Virginia University teaching a variety of sales and international courses and founding the Professional Sales Institute. My research is in Professional Sales (emphasis the neurological foundation of nonverbal cues on trust & trustworthiness). I also publish in the area of international market entry.
The picture below is of me in front of the Bridge in Enniscorthy. This is the site of the First Battle of Enniscorthy in the Irish Rebellion of 1798. That is part of my metamorphic journey that developed out of my college education. I will tell you more about that through my blog.
